Time flies

Haven't updated this blog for a long long time!

Dad passed away on June 28 this year to be with our Lord Jesus. We thank God that dad left in peace. Mom cried for a short while and she said that dad was free from his suffering and to be with God in Heaven, a place that has no tears nor pain.

The above photo was taken on a roadside one morning when we went for morning walk. Mom fractured her pelvic bone after a fall in July and was wheelchair-bound for 6 weeks. Now she has to use a walking frame that I rented from Salvation Army Day Centre.

Meeting the NCF staff worker of Japan - Chieko at the PACEA Staff training in HK. She is the same as I knew her more than a decade ago! She loves her nurses and she has trained her successor too!

It's China's National Birthday today and we will have a compensation day off tomorrow. Eversince my retirement, holiday seems to have nothing to do with me! That's what the others said to me anyway! To me, it is true as they said! I don't take a holiday and I don't rest on a public holiday either! I am the 24-hours "carer" to my parents. With the help from my sister "losai" and brother SK & soster-in-law Kam, I was able to take short breaks for a day to 4 days. But in the near future i don't think I am going to take "short leave" anymore. I don't want mom to worry about caring for dad!

My friends said that mom & dad are a pair of happy elderlies, agree! Surely they are!

I've been to Thailand with my CPH colleague in June. We visited a Honey Company. As you can see in this photo, I was holding a beehive "board" with both hands. There are lots of bees clinging on that beard! Why are they so quiet and not flying about? They are all anaesthetised by the owner few minutes ago. That's why they are so "quiet"!

Visitors from our home town

My niece SY came to visit my parents last month. Sy is a very bright girl and she gains good records in her study. She said that she would study hard to become a doctor. I will followup and encourage her to fulfill her dream.

little ally is my grand-niece! she is so cute! i love her so much though i haven't seen her yet! her parents have updated her day to day happenings on their blog that i am being kept updated on her growth! i am looking forward to meet you, little ally, when you come to visit us at end of this year with your parents!

Walking exercise

I've been spending much time with my parents these days. Every morning I go to their home to see that dad has taken the right medication. When he has finished with his breakfast, we will go for a walk when the weather permits. I will go with dad and mom will come by herself later, because she takes a bit longer to get herdelf ready to go out!
Will take some pictures to show you what dad is doing during our daily walking!

PSGPS 50th anniversary

I just can't imagine that It's 50 years ago that I started primary 2 at Perth Street Government Primary School. The photo on the left was taken in one of our class outings.

Ever since we finished our primary school education, I had no contact with most of them. It was by chance that I met Lo Sit-cham and Shum Oi-lin one day when I renewed my BNO passport at the British Counsulate.

I am glad that we can arrange a gethering this October to memorate our golden anniversary!

With much co-operation from classmates, I am sure that we will have a memorable day on October 29, 2006.

A friend of mine bought this stone craft while we were in Henan last year. I find it matches with the message I received today -- "P.U.S.H."

This reminds me to keep praying until God shows me His answer. Perserverence is the lesson for me in these days.

Dad in Kowloon Park

I went to Kowloon Park with dad this morning. We saw a number of pigeons in the park. We understand that there's the danger of Avian flu outbreak around the world, and posters are put up in the park (you can see one of them on the top left corner photo says: "Do not feed or disturb the birds") to warn people not to get close to them.
Dad enjoyed the walk in the park but he didn't walk too far before he wanted to sit down to rest a bit. He didn't refuse my request to take some photos for him! Do you like these photos?

Dad had two major operations last year and had loss 10+ kg. in body weight. Now heis the thinest person in our family! I pray that he can regain his weight as before.

Mom loves rice sausages!

Do you know what is rice sausage? It is made of steamed rice batter. You have to blend the soaked through rice with water to a certain consistency, then laddle a thin layer onto a flat surface and steam it for a few minutes. When it's done, you can put all sorts of meat/vegetables on to it before you roll it up to the form of a sausage and cut it up into small sections.
Mom doesn't like rice sausage with anything in it. She loves plain rice sausage.
THe photo on the right was taken while she was at the Evangel Medical Centre one morning, after she had her full body check. We went there with her that morning, without breakfast, to have a complete body check. She had to be there with an emptied stomach because she had to have blood taking for fasting blood sugar test. After blood taking I went to buy her a box of rice sausage. You can see from the look on her face that she was really enjoying her breakfast. My little sister 'lo-sai' was there with us too. Thank you 'lo-sai' to keep us company that morning!

My dad loves ice-cream!

I went to Tsing-yi City with my dad one day. We had no idea what to buy, but just walked around within the mall.
When we arrived to Ben & Jerry's I felt like trying their ice-cream. I then asked dad if he would like some too. At first he said 'no'. But I said, "You are very thin! You have the quota for a double cone!" I didn't wait for his answer and reached to the counter asking for 2 ice-cream cones. I gave one to dad and he set near the ice-cream stall and enjoying using the small spoon to taste the ice-cream.
I had tried many other brands of ice-cream before, but I found that the Ben & Jerry's were better than those I had had before. Dad shared the same feeling too! Ice-cream is really something loved by both children and adults!
If it's not becuse of it's high caloric value, I wouldn't mind have it three times a day or more! ha ha ha!!
